Directed by Anton Corbijn, this film is about the life and death of Ian Curtis, a quiet and rather sad lad who was the singer of a pioneering band called Joy Division . As you can see on the add the film is spellbinding, electrifying, magnetic, and I subscribe to this. Based on the book by Deborah Curtis: "Touching From A Distance" the black and white scenario gives a magnificent depth to Corbijn's visual interpretation of Joy Division's living energy. If you liked I'm not There, a film by Todd Haynes then you'll definitely enjoy Control. Bob Dylan once said "People are always talking about freedom, freedom to live in a certain way. Of course the more you live in a certain way the less it feels like freedom."Then what's left ... controlling the way you live ?
I had to take a break before finishing this post, just because I'm an undeclared control freak.
